Is a ministerial shake-up coming soon in Cameroon?
The regime in Yaoundé embarked on a profound shake-out in the Ministry of External Relations on Tuesday. Several diplomats, both at home and abroad, have either been promoted or retired while many others have been appointed. For a while now, Biya has not made such changes to the ministry.
This information was contained in a series decrees from the president read on state broadcaster, CRTV.
This shake-up has fuelled speculation on the possible shake-out of the Biya regime, especially as the Anglophone crisis makes the president more and more restless.
The way some ministers have handled the Anglophone crisis has prompted some people to pray for change in the government.
There have even been media reports suggesting that a ministerial shake-up that was in the pipeline has failed.
The last time Biya reshuffled his government was in 2015.
