A Cameroonian has attempted to take his own life by climbing an electric pole in  Lagos-Nigeria.Schocked residents said the the individual who appeared to be mentally deranged was demanding  N5 million(14 Million FCFA) or he would kill himself. According to witnesses, when persuaded to come down from the PHCN pole, the Cameroonian, Frederic Gino, told the bewildered onlookers that he would only climb down if he got the money. 

Media reports say Gino had climbed the electric pole in an attempt to commit suicide, the man had been on the pole as early 5:30am and all efforts by the community to bring him down proved abortive. He was, however, rescued by officials of Lagos State Emergency Agency in collaboration with officials of the state Fire Services.When questioned, He said his name is Fredrick Gino from Cameroon and he doesn't know how he got to Nigeria

The individual sustained  injuries during the rescue attempt and was immediately taken to a local hospital.
