Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

The US ambassador to Cameroon has disclosed his country's desire to work towards free and fair elections coming up later this year. Ambassador Peter Henry Barlerin was speaking to Francophone newspaper La Nouvelle Expression, Cameroon-Info.Net has reported.
''We will work to ensure credible and fair elections. This year Cameroon is organising presidential, senatorial and local elections. "We have plans to support the registration [of voters], hoping that, as much as possible, Cameroon will ensure a good electoral process. "With the help of the civil society, we intend to assist in the process [elections ] to make sure it's credible, that the elections are held peacefully, and that it's a succes. This statement comes at a time when the political atmosphere in Cameroon looks rather cloudy. It's not yet clear if Mr Biya will step down at the end of his current mandate. But most Cameroonians would love to see a new face at the Unity Palace. {loadposition myposition2}
