Yaounde: How lion died at Mvog Betsi zoo
The Mvog Betsi zoo in Yaounde, has lost one of its lions as a result of an infection.
Brenda as the animal used to be called, gave up the ghost on 30 April 2018 in Yaounde after living for 8 years.
"She had become so weak and could not move. We released her from the cage and did a test on her which we sent to the laboratory for examination" sources revealed.
The examination on the health of the lion showed that some major organs of her body were no longer functioning effectively.
With the death of Brenda, just two lions are left in the Mvog Betsi zoo in Yaounde, which is one of the largest in Cameroon.
Visitors of the zoo have been assured not be scared as the virus the animal died of, cannot be transmitted to humans.
