Man found dead in his apartment at the Elf neighbourhood in Douala

A man has been found dead in his apartment at the Elf neighbourhood in Douala. The man who is a tailor was found half naked on his bed yesterday Monday April 17, 2017 with several wounds on his chest suggesting he was physically assaulted.

Sources say on Sunday evening the man was involved in a fierce fight with other people at a local liquor joint; they say this might have been the immediate cause of death.

The man who many say is a heavy drinker is believed to emanate from one of the neighbouring countries:

The police have opened an investigation into the matter and at the same time called for responsible behavior from the public.

“Everybody has to know that matters like fights have to be reported to the police. People must learn to be responsible and use the police and not take matters into their own hands” says a policeman on duty.

According to an onlooker, one of the causes of the demise is to be blamed on drunkenness.

The onlooker says “Drunkenness is like madness. I think one of the causes of the fight was drunkenness. People must learn to drink responsibly and avoid getting drunk. If this man on his right senses, this terrible incident may have been avoided”.
