New Delhi: Amid Biya's absence, African leaders to announce Africa-India Framework for Strategic Cooperation
President Biya did not travel to New Delhi for the Africa-India Forum. The Cameroonian leader is represented by the Minister of External Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella. The 3rd Africa-India Summit presently holding in New Delhi that began on the 27th October 2015 has been organized to rekindle the long standing relationship between India and the African continent.
Africa and India have agreed that they are experiencing the same challenges that began from the time of colonialism. Not only do the two entities feel sidelined on the international scene specifically the United Nations Security Council, they also have a number of development challenges that could be surmounted through partnerships.
These concerns shall be identified and outlined in two working documents that will be approved at the close of the forum. It has been revealed that the final resolutions will include a Draft Political Declaration and the Africa-India Framework for Strategic Cooperation. Participants want it to be a roadmap that redefines future cooperation not only between countries but also between the two billion peoples. The first Africa- India Summit held in India in 2008 and the second was in Addis Ababa in 2011.
