North West Region Journalists Enhance Communication Strategies for Ring Road Construction
Mbouda, February 8, 2024 - Journalists from 17 media houses in the North West Region convened for a three-day workshop in Mbouda, aimed at refining and fine-tuning communication strategies for the ongoing construction of the Ring Road.
The seminar, titled "Media Training Workshop on the Construction of National Road No. 11 (Ring Road)," was held under the distinguished patronage of Ngati Emmanuel, the representative of the Minister of Public Works and Technical Director to the Ministry of Public Works.
During the workshop, participants received valuable training on various aspects of communication, including conflict-sensitive reporting, the power of the press, utilizing radio as an effective medium of communication, and strategies for communicating behavioral and attitude change. The seasoned journalists leading the training included Shifu Ngala, Victor Epie Ngome, Louis Marie, and Budhdi Adams, renowned figures from The Post Newspaper.
At the conclusion of the event, the representative of the Minister of Public Works commended the journalists for their dedication and emphasized the importance of utilizing the acquired knowledge to refine communication strategies. He underscored the significance of promoting peace as the key to garnering support from the population for the ongoing construction works of the Ring Road.
The workshop, which commenced on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, concluded on Thursday, February 8, 2024, with the journalists expressing their commitment to advancing the agenda of the Ring Road construction project. Their dedication to enhancing communication strategies signals a collective effort to ensure the successful implementation of this vital infrastructure project, which holds immense potential for economic development and connectivity in the North West Region.
