Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Cameroonian Police officials have written a letter to the Apostolic administrator of the Bafia Diocese Abraham Kome to retrieve the corpse of the late bishop of Bafia.
The letter was written on July 12.
The head of the judicial police and the head of  the department of judicial inquiry urge the clergy to follow normal procedures to  remove the remains of His Lordship Jean Marie Benoit Bala from the mortuary and bury them.
Catholic bishops in Cameroon have refused to recognize postmortem examination reports which claim that the bishop probably drowned. No trace of violence was seen on the corpse, they say.
After the publication of  the preliminary reports on July 4, the corpse of the bishop was 'given' to the Church for burial.
But the men of God have dismissed the claims that they have been given the corpse.
We don't have the reaction of the Church yet.
The letter reminds Abraham Kome and his men that after July's reports the main vicar of the Bafia Diocese was informed that the corpse was at the disposal of the Church for burial . So  the message in the letter is simply a reminder.
Bishop Bala reportedly went missing several weeks ago and was found dead three days or so later.
