Red alert to consumption of illicit vegetable oil of doubtful quality in the Cameroonian markets.
The Customs department held a high level Customs meeting in Bamenda co joint by other security forces like the BIR,,Soldiers, Gendarmerie and Police. This meeting was aimed at securing our frontiers both maritime, terrestrial and Airspace. The brands of vegetable oil of doubtful quality found in the markets in Cameroun include Mouna, Promex,la Perla, Girasole and a host of others. These poorly refined oils pose a threat to the health of Cameroonians as these fake vegetable products can cause Cancer related disorders and eventually death. Already a national platform has been established to seize or impound these fake and dangerous products from all the markets across the National territory.
