Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

CRTV's General Manager AMADOU VAMOULKE has responded again to an invitation from a judge of the Special criminal court to discuss charges concerning the collection and non-payment into state treasury of the audio-visual tax through its Marketing and Communications Agency CMCA. According to former CMCA Director Mme Antoinette Essomba who was arrested some five months ago, she and Vamoulke shared the booty instead of paying the said cash into state treasury in 2004 and 2006. Cameroon Concord now understands she is attempting to involve Vamoulke claiming the CRTV General Manager   had continued with the embezzlement activity of his predecessor Prof. GERVAIS MENDO ZE, who is yet to answer charges of massive embezzlement at CRTV during his 17 year reign.

Our chief intelligence officer in Yaounde who is covering the happenings at the Special Criminal Court reported earlier today that Vamoulke's convocation to the Special Criminal Court is alleged to be spear- headed by a top government official at the Civil cabinet at the Presidency, a former CRTV Journalist, who wants him put aside, so that they can propose retired Journalist ZACHARY NGNIMAN from the Adamaoua Region to replace Vamoulke from the Far North.

This scheme has untold tentacles aimed at diverting public opinion from the MENDO ZE's case, and to tarnish the hard earn reputation and good name of Amadou Vamoulke, a graduate of the Yaoundé International School of Journalism and who was the youngest of his batch, and came first, ahead of Minister Biyiti Bi Nsam, Jean Francois Mebenga, GM Jérôme Mvondo.

Meanwhile former civil servants, state agents and state contract workers who served at CRTV between 1988 and 2004 are now filling complaints at the Ministry of Finances against MENDO ZE's illegal deduction of 10 percent of their salaries, which was meant to be paid into the coffers of the National Social Insurance fund CNPS towards their retirement, but that money was diverted into Mendo ZE's pockets during 16 and the half years.
