A police source in Douala told Cameroon Concord early this morning that two suspects have been arrested. The bus belonging to Bucavoyages was stopped by police officers at about 11:30 pm on Saturday as it headed towards the outskirts of Douala en route to the nation’s capital Yaoundé.
We gathered that the two suspects arrested- a white male and one black are all holders of foreign passports. Our informant hinted that the two were in possession of luggages, containing large stocks of weapons of war and munitions. The Bucavoyages company bus was escorted by two pickup trucks full of police officers to the Central Police station of Douala III for questioning.
Our correspondent in Douala, Hanson Nfor Nchanji is yet to establish if the two suspects have links with the Nigerian Islamic sect Boko Haram.
