Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

In the night from December 14 to 15, a traffic accident occurred in the locality of Moutourwa, 50 km from Maroua, involving an interurban transport bus from Touristique Express and a truck from Boissons du Cameroun. The official report states that 8 people lost their lives, and 20 others were injured, receiving medical attention at the regional hospital in Maroua. This marks the third accident involving Touristique Express this year.

In August, a company bus collided with a stationary truck in the Adamaoua region, resulting in 9 fatalities and 42 injuries. In May, another fatal accident involving a bus from the same company claimed the lives of 15 individuals. Touristique Express had been suspended following these accidents for non-compliance with traffic rules but was later allowed to resume operations with assurances of adhering to road safety. However, this new incident occurs during the special campaign to reinforce preventive measures and road safety led by the Ministry of Transport since December 12.
