Yaounde: Heavy rains blow off the roofs of Biya's former college
Heavy Rains Blow Off Roofs of Lycee Leclerc
Roofs of some buildings at Lycee Leclerc in Yaoundé have been blown off by tornado Saturday May 6, 2017 leaving classrooms inundated.
The heavy downpour showed no mercy to the building hosting Premiere circle of the institution. The Principal Mrs Tonga said the damages were enormous but that it will not affect classes because the students will be transferred to other blocks.
The Minister of Secondary Education, Jean Ernest Massena Ngale Bibehe descended on the site of incident under heavy rains to evaluate the damages.
He made a tour round the campus promising that a quick solution will be arrived at for things to return to normalcy.
The winds blew off the zinks meters away from the buildings, wet classrooms will welcome students this Monday but officials are confident all will be fine.
