Yaounde Hit By Torrential Rains

Yaounde the nation’s capital has been greatly battered by torrential rains that also destroyed many buildings and left many inhabitants homeless and without electricity. Areas that were badly affected included Olembe, Nkozoa, Messassi, Emana, Akak, Nyom II. The damage is already being estimated to cost hundreds of millions of franc CFA. At the time of writing this report, the victims of this natural disaster had not received a visit nor a word from the Yaounde city council authorities and neither from the government of Prime Minister Yang Philemon.
