Yaounde:International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC) graduates 2015/2016 batch of diplomatic interns
The International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC) has sent out the 2015/2016 batch of diplomatic interns. Some 29 participants from Benin, Congo Brazzaville and Cameroon participated in the 10-month refresher course for senior staff of the public and private administration, non-governmental organisations and international bodies. The trainees for the advanced training course cycle dubbed “Stage diplomatique” were drilled on thematic training modules such International Relations, Law, strategic studies, research and languages.
Speaking during the diploma award ceremony, the representative of the Minister of External Relations, François Xavier Beyene (Technical Adviser No. 2) underscored the importance of the course in equipping the workers with professional skills. Beyene saluted the cooperation between Cameroon and participating countries, stating that the Head of State, head of Cameroon’s diplomacy places a lot of importance to international cooperation and regional integration. While urging the laureates whom he described as the fruits of international cooperation and regional integration, he urged them to be promoters of African integration in different activities they engage in as they remain ambassadors of IRIC.
One of the trainees, Stephen Ashu Enownyaket, sub-director in charge of procurement in the Ministry of Public Contracts, rejoiced that the training has enriched him professionally.
