BIR Shipwreck: President Paul Biya declares 28 and 29 July, National mourning days
Following the tragic incident which occurred in the South West Region, which left 37 soldiers dead, the Head of State signed a decree Yesterday 27 July, declaring today Friday and Tomorrow Saturday, National Mourning days.
Flags all over the National Territory as well as in Cameroonian diplomatic centres out of the country, will be hoisted at half-mast in honour of the fallen soldiers.
This tragedy of the vessel called “MUNDEMBA”, occurred on 16 July 2017 during which it was submerged due to overloading, even though authorities claim that the cause of the shipwreck is unknown.
