Equatorial Guinea will not be playing the 2016 Female AFCON to be hosted by Cameroon. The female squad from the Country of OBIANG NGUEMA has also been banned from the next three editions of the Africa Women Cup of Nations for fielding a player using fake documents.

Following an investigation, CAF found the player in question was "registered for the Women AFCON Namibia 2014 as Camila Maria Nobre Carmo with date of birth: 07/10/1994 and for the 2016 edition, her date of birth stated 10/06/1988 and the name Camila Nobre do Carmo Oliviera". The sanction comes after a protest by Mali, who lost 3-2 to Equatorial Guinea in the final round of the Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifiers. 

Mali benefited from an earlier ruling by FIFA which ruled in April that Camila Maria do Carmo Nobre de Oliveira was found to have used two passports with different birth dates and two birth certificates. She was then dismissed from 2020 Olympics preliminary qualifying.

Camila Nobre do Carmo Oliviera featured in the first and second leg matches against Mali on 6 April and 10 April The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has now sanctioned Equatorial Guinea over same issue. Equatorial Guinea has accepted she was illegally fielded Mali will replace Equatorial Guinea in the final tournament of the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations from 19 November to 3 December.
