Cameroon: Biya boycotts AU summit

The summit, which brings together members of government and Heads of State who are members therein, kick-started on Tuesday, the 27^th of June 2017, in Addis-Ababa, the Capital of Ethiopia and African Union.

All partakers are expected to be in the Ethiopian capital latest today 3^rd July, to finish up with the meeting which is scheduled to end tomorrow 4^th July 2017.

The projects and resolutions taken since the beginning of this summit on the 27^th of June, will be submitted to the Heads of State and government from today till tomorrow which is the last day.

The Cameroonian first citizen Paul Biya, will not be part of this conference for reasons unknown. He rather sent his “work boy” the Prime Minister Philemon Yang to represent him as usual.

Among many other things, economic crisis, and security threats are some of the main issues that will be discussed during this meeting. It is such a big event for the African Union (AU) President, Moussa Faki Mahamat, who originates from Chad and was elected some six months earlier, replacing the South African Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma.

The AU conference this year, is in its 29^th edition. Every stakeholder will be allowed to take part in the decision making, which will have on the limelight DR Congo, with its sexual abuses and equally the fight against AIDS.
