The governments’ spokesperson, the minister of communication, during a press conference on Monday 28 May 2018, has given government’s version of the massacre in Pinyin.

 

 

Closely assisted by the head of the communications unit of the armed forces in Cameroon colonel Badjeck, Tchiroma gave a version which they said is the right one which comes to clarify doubts.

Communications’ minister said it was a group of terrorists that settled in the locality of Menka with plans of disrupting the 20th May celebrations.

 While in the locality, as the minister explained, they were committing several acts of atrocities, like theft, rape amongst others.

They spokesperson went further to point out that the terrorists took control of a motel in the area, where they kept 15 hostages.

Learning of their presence in the Motel, 30 armed men were sent there where they had exchanges of gunshots with the alleged terrorists, that lasted for two hours and had 22 of the terrorists dead one captured and one member of the military wounded.
