It has been officially announced that Marc Brys, a Belgian national, has been selected as the new coach of the Cameroon national football team, the Indomitable Lions.

This announcement was made through a press release from the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education.

Marc Brys, 61 years old, previously served as the coach of OH Leuven, a first-division club in Belgium. He has been recruited by the State of Cameroon to lead the national team. The press release from the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education also mentions that Brys will be supported by several former members of the coaching staff under Conceiçao, including François Omam-Biyick (Assistant Coach 1), Ashu Bessong (Assistant Coach 2), Alioum Boukar (Goalkeeping Coach), and Germain Noël Essengue (Press Team).

According to a radio press release from the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, these appointments were made following the directives of President Paul Biya, the Head of State of Cameroon. These directives were conveyed through a correspondence dated April 2, 2024, originating from Etoudi, the presidential palace of the Cameroonian people.

In the correspondence addressed to the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic, confirms that President Paul Biya has given his approval for the recruitment of the coach and officials responsible for the technical, administrative, and medical support of the Senior Men's National Football Team.

Furthermore, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh urges the head of Cameroonian sports to collaborate closely with the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) and other relevant authorities to promptly complete the necessary procedures for the appointment and assumption of duties by the newly appointed officials.
