Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Samuel Eto’o, President of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fécafoot), has addressed a formal correspondence to Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, Minister of State and Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, to clarify the financial situation concerning the maintenance of the stadiums used for the Cameroon vs Cape Verde match on June 8 in Yaoundé.

In this official letter, signed on Thursday, Eto’o elucidates the financial matters related to the upkeep of the stadiums utilized during the third matchday of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where Cameroon hosted Cape Verde in Yaoundé.

"We acknowledge receipt of your correspondence, referenced above, through which you instructed the Minister of Finance to urgently release and allocate 18,042,300 FCFA to ONIES for the coverage of maintenance, upkeep, and operational costs of the stadiums designated for the Cameroon-Cape Verde match on June 8, 2024," writes Samuel Eto’o.

Eto’o informed the Secretary General that "the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has already disbursed the sum of 16,792,300 FCFA for the same purpose and cause on June 3, 2024, to ONIES."

"The apparent discrepancy between the invoiced amount and the disbursed sum is due to Cape Verde's delayed arrival, which consequently reduced the number of training sessions and field usage," Eto’o specified.

This correspondence highlights Eto’o’s proactive approach to ensuring financial transparency and addressing any discrepancies in the maintenance and operational costs related to international matches, demonstrating Fécafoot’s commitment to the efficient management of football resources in Cameroon.
