France reacts to Anglophone crisis
The deputy spokesperson at the French ministry of foreign affairs has stated his country's stance on the unrest in Southern Cameroons.
"France is observing attentively the situation in Cameroon (a friend and partner.
"We did express concern after the October [tragedy ], which resulted in many deaths.
"We have also condemned the [attacks ] on forces of law and order.
"We are urging all the stakeholders involved to be calm and reject violence.
"We are calling for the use of dialogue to solve problems, to peacefully handle the concerns of all the parties in a bit to respect the unity and integrity of the country.
" We are also addressing these messages to the powers that be in Cameroon."
France is one of the countries highly expected to mediate in the Anglophone crisis.
She and Britain were at the beginning of the partition and reunification of Cameroon.
