In a significant diplomatic move, Brice Oligui Nguema, the President of the Gabonese Transition, undertook a visit to Cameroon with the aim of seeking clemency from President Paul Biya to facilitate Gabon's return to the Central African Economic Community (CEEAC).

Following his meeting with President Biya, Oligui Nguema expressed his delight at the warm welcome extended to him by the Cameroonian people. The new leader of Gabon also emphasized the importance of President Biya's expertise and experience in the region. Accompanied by Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute and Minister of External Relations Lejeune Mbella Mbella, the Gabonese president came to explain the motivations behind the visit and to restore Gabon to its rightful place within the CEEAC.

Upon his departure from Yaoundé Nsimalen Airport, Oligui Nguema was seen off by the Prime Minister and other Cameroonian officials, marking the conclusion of this historic visit. The visit signals a diplomatic effort to strengthen regional ties and bring Gabon back into the fold of the Central African Economic Community.
