Nigeria to respect decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on boarder demarcation with Cameroon
The Nigerian government will respect the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the border between Nigeria and Cameroon, in a statement issued by President Muhammadu Buhari on August 1,2016 in Abuja.
Buhari gave his assurance on Monday in Abuja, capital of Nigeria, while receiving a UN mission headed by the Special Representative of the Secretary General, Mohammed Ibn Chambers.
The Nigerian leader assured that Nigeria would do nothing to hinder the work of various UN commissions at the border.
The Special Representative of the Secretary General, Mohammed Ibn Chambers had informed Buhari earlier that 2,001 kilometres out of 2,100 kilometres separating Nigeria and Cameroon had been marked, leaving a balance of 99 kilometres to conclude the demarcation.
