Prime Minister Ngute Donates 10 Million Francs to Victoria United FC
Victoria United FC, also known as OPOPO, kicked off their national trophy tour today, marking their victory in the Cameroon MTN Elite One Championship.
Their first stop was at the office of Prime Minister Dion Ngute, a native of the South West Region, who extended a generous donation of ten million Francs CFA to support the club.
The Prime Minister's contribution comes as a significant boost for Victoria United FC as they embark on their celebratory tour. The team is set to visit several cities, including Yaoundé, Douala, Buea, and Limbe, spreading the joy of their championship victory.
During the presentation of the championship trophy at the Prime Minister's office, Prime Minister Dion Ngute expressed his support for the club by donating Ten Million Francs CFA (10,000,000 FCFA). This financial assistance will undoubtedly aid Victoria United FC as they continue to make strides in the football world.
Notably absent from the presentation was football legend Samuel Eto'o, who was expected to join the celebration. Eto'o, however, had other commitments, as he was celebrating his wife Georgette's birthday on the same day.
Prime Minister Ngute's gesture underscores the government's commitment to supporting sports development in Cameroon, particularly at the grassroots level. With this generous donation, Victoria United FC can further solidify their position as champions and inspire the next generation of Cameroonian footballers.
