Tragic Accident Involving Journalist Convoy on Return from CAN 2023 Coverage
In a somber turn of events, a convoy of journalists returning from Yamoussoukro after covering the CAN 2023 matches was involved in a severe accident at the entrance of Abidjan around 2 a.m.
Initial reports indicate no fatalities, but several individuals, some critically, sustained injuries. Emergency teams swiftly arrived at the scene to administer immediate care and coordinate the evacuation of the injured to the University Hospital Center of Treichville.
The bus driver and the convoy attendant, trapped in the overturned vehicle, were successfully rescued and are currently under thorough medical supervision at the CHU de Treichville.
This unfortunate incident casts a shadow over the post-CAN 2023 activities, highlighting the risks journalists face while fulfilling their duties.
