In a thrilling conclusion to the Elite One Playoffs, Victoria United has emerged victorious as the champions of Cameroon for the year 2024.

With an impressive performance throughout the season, Victoria United finished at the top of the table with 13 points after seven rounds of intense matches.

A standout player in Victoria United's triumphant campaign is Nathan Doualla, who at just 17 years old, has etched his name in history as a champion of Cameroon. Doualla's exceptional talent and dedication have been instrumental in leading his team to glory, showcasing his potential as a rising star in Cameroonian football.

Expressing his elation, Doualla shared, "I am very happy. My teammates and I worked for this title, and from the start of the season, we had this goal." Despite the celebrations, the playoffs were not without controversy, as players from Yong Sport Academy in Bamenda protested against the decision to deduct three points from them. 

Sporting black bandages over their mouths, the players made a statement of dissent, underscoring the passion and intensity of competition in Cameroon's football landscape.

Amidst the excitement of the playoffs, FECAFOOT, the country's football governing body, added a touch of entertainment by inviting musician artist Longuè Longuè to perform at the Mbappé Leppé stadium during halftime. With captivating performances and energetic dancers, Longuè Longuè captivated the audience, adding an extra layer of excitement to the festivities.

In addition to Victoria United's triumph, Aigle Royale du Moungo clinched the championship title in the MTN Elite Two, earning promotion to the prestigious MTN Elite One league. Their achievement marks a significant milestone for the club and sets the stage for an exciting future in Cameroon's football landscape.
