The Indomitable Lions were forced to settle for a draw on June 11 in Luanda against Angola, following a performance that deserved a better outcome for Marc Brys' men.

Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring in the 11th minute, allowing the team to head into halftime with a one-goal advantage and several missed scoring opportunities.

Buoyed by their home crowd, the Palancas Negras equalized in the 54th minute through an own goal by Michael Ngadeu Ngandjui. The score remained unchanged at the end of the 90 minutes.

The Indomitable Lions returned to Yaoundé in the early hours of June 12, 2024, confident of retaining their first place in Group D with 8 points after the 4th round of matches. They hold a one-point lead over Cape Verde and Libya as they await the 5th and 6th rounds, scheduled for March 2025, where they will face Eswatini and Libya.
