Political Tapestry Unveiled: Séráphin Magloire Fouda, the Secretary General of the Prime Minister, Engages Influential Figures in Crafting the Next Government.
In the intricate dance of political maneuvering, it is an open secret that when assembling a government, Paul Biya involves several individuals. Among them is his Secretary General, who not only suggests names, including his own but, ironically, the Secretary General of the Presidency often finds himself excluded from the final roster.
Presently, Séráphin Magloire Fouda is orchestrating the formation of the future government. The Secretary General of the Prime Minister's office is speculated to ascend to the powerful position of Secretary General of the Presidency, currently occupied by the imposing figure of FERDINAND NGOH NGOH, also known as the 'punkish luminary.'
Indeed, at the Prime Minister's office, Fouda, envisioning himself as SGPR, harbors no secrets about his ambitions. Frequently arriving at work in the late morning, in stark contrast to Prime Minister Dion Ngute's early start at 7 am, he often departs without bidding farewell—a norm for someone entrusted with the weighty responsibility of a ministerial reshuffle.{loadmoduleid 377}
For several weeks, the university lecturer has been discreetly consulting, whether in his office at the Etoile building or his residence, meticulously shaping the government's architecture to present to the Head of State.
Fouda has assured the current governor of the Northern region, Jean Abate Edi'i, of a discreet meeting in Yaoundé in early December, securing a place in the forthcoming government. Hailing from Mvila, he would numerically replace the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Libom Li Likeng, with whom Seraphin Magloire Fouda has maintained strained relations since she obtained the nationalization of Campost under the President's approval.
Another influential figure invited to step down is a governor received at the Etoile building. Fouda advocates for his appointment as the Minister of Defense, succeeding Joseph Béti Assomo—a position also coveted by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji.
Away from the direct gaze of his chief, Chief Joseph Dion Ngute, the Secretary General of the Prime Minister's Services, according to close sources, has been granted carte blanche by the Head of State to redefine the political landscape of the northern regions.
In contrast to the Minister of State, Secretary General of the Presidency, who relied on the counsel of the Rey-Bouba lamido, making him the kingmaker of the Northern region, Fouda has emancipated himself from the advice of His Majesty Boubakary Abdoulaye.
Mbairobé Gabriel, the Minister of Agriculture, a locally contested Christian, is not in Fouda's favor. To replace him in the political sphere of Bénoué, Fouda queries his interlocutors about the Director General of Sodecoton, MOHAMADOU BAYERO, and his collaborator, SALI BALO.
Similar considerations are made for the entire country. His close associates working on the matter disclose that he intends to release Jacques Fame Ndongo from the Ministry of Higher Education.{loadmoduleid 378}
