The recent abduction of Ambazonia leaders in Nigeria has sparked a serious outcry across Cameroon, even in Francophone Cameroon. Even though the sincerity of Francophone Cameroonians in the outcry could be questioned, there's no doubt that Mr Biya and his men are pushing Southern Cameroonians to the wall. The arrest of President Sisiku and his men is arguably the most glaring indication that Mr Biya has no intentions to hold talks with leaders of the Anglophone struggle. 

A young politician in Francophone Cameroon has asserted in very strong terms that Mr Biya and his men have simply set a trap for Southern Cameroonians by arresting their leaders. To Mr Cabral Libii, the abduction is a provocative move to push Southern Cameroonians to get radicalised. The presidential hopeful was speaking on Equinoxe TV at the weekend, reports have said. The abduction of these leaders would be the last tactical error any wise president would make in a struggle of this kind.

The struggle has moved beyond the influence of leaders. Apparently no single person can stop the train: The people are on the move. That's why the people are ready to appoint new leaders at anytime.

Barrister Bobga Harmany has taken over as interim president of Ambazonia.the announcement was made on SCBC by Milton Taka, Undersecretary for Communications for the Interim Government in a Live coverage on January 9th 2018.Barrister Bobga will lead the affairs of the Interim Government alongside two others as reported in the announcement.

In the live video, the undersecretary as well called on all Ambazonians worldwide to stage protest marches at all Nigerian Embassies worldwide untill the release of its leader by the government of president Buhari.

Bobga Harmony was the President of the Common law Bar Association now christened Southern Cameroon Bar. He led Common Law Lawyers strike against the Republic of Cameroon, he fled the country in early 2017 when the government of president Biya began a crackdown  of the lawyers strike.

African Bar Association issues statement following recent arrest of Ambazonian leaders
Unlawful arrest /abduction of Cameroonian refugees by Nigerian Security agents

On behalf of the African Bar Association, I write to bring to your esteemed attention and to formally protest the unlawful arrest and abduction of scores of Cameroonian refugees resident in Nigeria by Security agents believed to be from the department of State Security, the Military intelligence or other security organs of the Nigerian State.

Information of this unfortunate incident which reportedly occurred in Abuja on Saturday was made available to the African Bar Association by some of the refugees who witnessed the abduction and managed to escape .

Honourable Attorney -General Sir, it may interest you to know that most of the abductees are Lawyers and registered members of our Association.

Furthermore, these individuals had their privacy invaded and whisked away without a warrant or any explanation at all and taken into custody at an unknown location.

Needless to say that the political problems in the Republic of Cameroon are notorious and in the domain of the international Community with the attendant consequences.

We make bold to say that Nigeria as a respectable and responsible member of the international community has Legal obligations under the United Nations Convention on Refugees, the African Charter on human and people’s rights and several other international and local legislations that gives rights to refugees and other endangered civilian Nationals of other Nations which must be taken into account at all times as Nigeria has obligations to protect these rights.

If the motive for these unlawful acts is to return the refugees to Cameroon, then Nigeria would be violating international Law that forbids Countries from returning refugees to the Countries they are fleeing from.

Cameroon right now is in total chaos with wide spread state sponsored terrorism, political persecution, intimidation, mass rape and murder particularly against the citizens of the Southern part of that Country which has led many to flee the dictatorship there to temporarily reside in Nigeria and other Countries within and outside the African Continent. It may interest you to know sir that Afba has been working hard with other likeminded Continental and international bodies to see that this crisis is resolved and normalcy returns to Cameroon but so far the Government of that Country has prefered Facism and Gestapo tactics to dialogue.

Sir, the African Bar Association as a responsible Professional Association cannot sit by and allow this type of situation to stand where Security operatives under whatever guise or directives violate Human Rights and international Law especially of members of our esteemed Association .

In the circumstances, the African Bar Association demands as follows :

(1)immediate release of all those abducted by Security agents of the Nigerian State.

(2)apology and adequate compensation to these innocent individuals for these grave legal infractions and

(3) thorough investigation into the circumstances which led to this unfortunate incident and adequate punishment for those found culpable.

While we trust in the ability and speedy attention of your good office to meeting these Lawful demands, we shall however not hesitate to approach the Local and international Courts to seek Legal redress if this matter is not resolved with the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, please accept the assurances of the cooperation and high considerations of the African Bar Association.

Ambazonian activist Atam Milan has called for a worldwide demonstration by Ambazonians/Southern Cameroonians at Nigerian Embassies worldwide.The call comes after the abduction of H.E Ayuk Tabe Juluis, president of the interim government alongside 9 other  delegates of Ambazonia last week Friday in an Abuja hotel.

He made the call on his official Facebook wall some early Tuesday, 09.01.2017.Below is what he posted on his wall:

The leading opposition figure in Cameroonian politics has expressed his bitterness towards President Biya's  handling of the Anglophone crisis.

Mr Fru Ndi has declared that he would wish him a "sad year" if he had travelled to Yaoundé to attend the new-year-wishes ceremony last week. " I didn't have enough stamina to travel to Yaoundé. Roads are pretty bad in this part [of the country ]. And even if I had come, I would have said 'sad year, Mr President'",

Mr Fru Ndi is quoted by Le Jour as saying. The pioneer and current chairman of SDF has also deplored Biya's show of greater concern for the fight against Boko Haram to the detriment of the sociopolitical crisis in Southern Cameroons. Mr Biya has expressed deep concern on several occasions about the Boko Haram insurgency in the Great North.

His administration has even negotiated the release of several hostages with the terror group. But he has shown open unwillingness to hold talks with the unhappy people of Southern Cameroons. He has demonstrated complete disregard for the thousands of hopeless Southern Cameroonians seeking refuge in neighbouring Nigeria. And this is the same man who is ever quick to express his condolences to disaster-stricken nations.

Gunmen have abducted a faction of the Interim Government of Ambazonia including its leader H.E Sisiku Ayuk Tabe.
The Interim government last night release a press released to that effectr in which it blamed Cameroun security forces for the abductions.

THE INTERIM GOVERNMENT OF THE SOUTHERN CAMEROONS CONDEMNS AND
CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF PRESIDENT JULIUS AYUK TABE

The Interim Government of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia Strongly condemns the illegal abduction
of Sisiku Julius Ayuk Tabe and eight other officials by gunmen from la Republic du Cameroun at about
19:30 pm in Nera Hotels, (Ekwueme Road), in Abuja Nigeria on January 5, 2018. This criminal and illegal
abduction happened during a meeting being chaired by H.E. Sisiku Ayuk Tabe.
The abduction was carried out by La Republique du Cameroun’s Security Gunmen who sneaked into
Nigeria.
Those arrested along with the President include;
H.E. Sisiku Ayuk Tabe.
Dr. Nfor Ngala Nfor, Chairman of the Southern Cameroons National Council (SCNC)
Dr. Fidelis Nde Che,
Dr. Henry Kimeng
Prof. Awasum
Dr. Cornelius Kwanga
Mr. Tassang Wilfred
Barrister Eyambe Elias
Dr. Ojong Okongho and
Barrister Nalowa Bih.

The President and his team were in a High Command meeting in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory of
Nigeria at the time the Cameroun Gunmen showed up at the Hotel. The meeting started at around 5pm,
Nigerian time. At around 7:30PM, the gunmen came into the Hotel and abducted all of them including
the President.
The meeting was scheduled to discuss the Southern Cameroons Refugee crisis in Nigeria and to
galvanize relief support for housing, medical and feeding in anticipation of the approaching rainy season.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has been notified of the incident and it is currently investigating the
situation. The Interim Government of the Southern Cameroons calls on all Southern Cameroonians to
remain calm as it pursues investigations.
Anglophones in Cameroon continue to be victims of extra judicial killings orchestrated by President Paul
Biya and his henchmen.
President Paul Biya and his henchmen must know that Anglophones in Cameroon will continue to assert
their right to self-determination and will hold Paul Biya to account on all the killings of Anglophones.
We call on Nigerian authorities to address this issue immediately and ensure that the Cameroun
government gunmen do not do any harm to them. We also call on the Nigerian authorities to investigate
this threat against its sovereignty by La Republique du Cameroun.
We call on the Nigerian government to guarantee the security of the more than 20,000 Anglophone
Cameroonian refugees in various camps in Nigeria.
