Dr. Azeh’s Vision for AI-Powered Healthcare Innovation in Cameroon
Dr. Azeh also spoke about BettaHealth Cameroon, a medical facility he co-founded to enhance healthcare accessibility through ambulatory care, home care, and telemedicine. BettaHealth offers in-home medical services for elderly and chronically ill patients, teleconsultations with specialists from Yaoundé and beyond, and emergency care through its health centre.

BettaHealth’s multi-disciplinary approach provides patients with access to general practitioners, pediatricians, gynecologists, and other specialists. Dr. Azeh emphasized that their telemedicine infrastructure connects patients with global experts, ensuring continuity of care even when in-person consultations are not feasible.
“Our goal is to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations, enhance quality of life, and cut healthcare costs through personalized care,” said Dr. Azeh.
A Visionary Leader with a Global Perspective
Dr. Azeh brings a wealth of experience to his work. With an established oncology practice in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, and over a decade as President of the German-Cameroonian Medical Society, Dr. Azeh has spearheaded numerous training programs and healthcare initiatives in Cameroon. His deep expertise in hematology, oncology, palliative care, and tropical medicine makes him a visionary leader in cross-border healthcare innovation.
The Road Ahead: AI, Innovation, and Collaboration
Dr. Azeh’s call to action reflects the pressing need for collaboration between governments, healthcare professionals, and technology providers to integrate AI tools across Africa. He believes that with the right policies, training, and infrastructure, AI-powered healthcare can drastically improve cancer outcomes and transform access to care for underserved populations.
