His career is marked by an unwavering commitment to improving the human experience through nonviolent and humanitarian-driven initiatives. As an internationally recognized expert in mining law, a mediator, and a philanthropist, Dr. Makongo has built a legacy that transcends borders.

His academic achievements are extensive, including the Highest Academic Award in Negotiations of Natural Resources Agreements from Denver University’s Sturm College of Law, an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy in Humanities, and a Master of Laws with a specialization in Natural Resources Environmental Law & Policy, Mining, Oil and Gas, and Negotiation of Natural Resources Agreements. 

Professionally, Dr. Makongo has held key positions such as Legal Advisor for the Cameroon National Petroleum Depot (SCDP), Director for African Affairs at Electrum USA LTD, and Founding Partner of Afro-American Consortium (AAC-3). He has also led Makongo & African Partners Limited for over a decade, guiding responsible practices in mining and oil & gas sectors, conducting feasibility studies, and advocating for environmental and social impact assessments.

Additionally, as Chairman of the Board at Fako Mining & Management (FAKOMM) LLC, Dr. Makongo has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to multinational consultancy services, particularly in uplifting the Republic of Guinea. His wide-ranging expertise includes legal advisory, contract negotiation, anti-corruption training, risk analysis, and community liaison, making him a vital force in energy, infrastructure, and natural resource sectors across Africa.
