Boko Haram releases new video without Abubakar Shekau
The Nigerian Islamic sect, Boko Haram has released a new video without its leader Abubakar Shekau fueling speculation about his fate. In the eight-minute video, an unidentified young man speaks on behalf of the Islamic state in West Africa saying "We are always present everywhere and where we had been before."
The video also shows an attack on a security checkpoint by Boko Haram militants, seizing weapons, and cutting the throat of a policeman. The last appearance of the mad leader, Shekau dates back in March 2014 when he announced Boko Haram's allegiance to the Islamic State group. Ever since the inauguration of Nigeria's new President Muhammadu Buhari, Boko Haram has multiplied its murderous attacks that has claimed the lives of more than 800 in two months.
