Nigeria arrest Boko Haram Regional Commander

While a wave of violence rocked the northeast of Nigeria, the Nigerian army reported that it has rescued 241 women and children in a terrorist camp near Banki in Borno State. The spokesman for the Nigerian army, Sani Usman has now confirmed that forty-three suspected members of Boko Haram, including a regional commander named Modu Bulama were also arrested.

The Nigerian Islamist organization affiliated with the Islamic state have increased their attacks since the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari in May. On Sunday, a series of explosions killed nearly 140 in Maiduguri and Monguno in northern Nigeria.
