Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Tubah, Cameroon - April 10, 2024 - Faced with ongoing socio-political unrest, pastors in the Tubah-Boyo Presbytery of Cameroon's North West Region are demonstrating remarkable flexibility to ensure their ministry continues.

Roadblocks Prompt Improvisation: A planned end-of-month evaluation meeting on April 9th, originally scheduled for Ngwah Parish, was disrupted by road closures in the Babanki area. Undeterred, Presbytery leadership improvised, holding simultaneous meetings in both Tubah and Fundong towns. Rev. Numfor Godwin, Presbytery Secretary, and the Presbytery Treasurer for Tubah-Boyo Presbytery led the respective meetings.

Technology Bridges the Gap: Despite the physical absence of pastors at Ngwah Parish, a virtual prayer session connected them with parishioners who had gathered for the meeting. Presbytery Secretary Rev. Numfor Godwin himself led this online prayer session. The Parish Chairperson, Elder Ngong Marcel, expressed gratitude to the pastors for this initiative.

Faith Overcomes Obstacles: The closure did not dampen the spirits of the parishioners in Ngwah. They sang hymns and offered financial support to their pastors, exemplifying the verse Romans 8:28: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Adaptability Ensures Progress: The Presbytery Treasurer impressively handled financial matters online, ensuring that contributions from all parishes were forwarded appropriately.

Inter-Presbytery Learning: Rev. Akijika Godlove, Presbyterial Secretary for the Grand North, who was present at the Tubah meeting, was impressed by the resilience and camaraderie of the Tubah-Boyo Presbytery pastors. He pledged to share these learnings with his own presbytery.

This story highlights the inspiring efforts of Cameroonian pastors who leverage technology and unwavering faith to keep their communities connected and their ministry alive in challenging times.
