Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Kampala, September 10, 2024. Shortly after a goalless draw (0-0) against Zimbabwe in the second round of qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, Cameroon’s national team players and staff boarded a Camairco flight back to Cameroon.

They landed at Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport around 2:30 a.m.

According to a staff member appointed by Fecafoot, "four players went straight to their respective clubs from Kampala." These players were André Onana (Manchester United, England), Carlos Baleba (Brighton, England), Christopher Wooh (Rennes, France), and Olivier Tcham (Samsunspor, Turkey).

Meanwhile, team captain Vincent Aboubakar and defender Michael Ngadeu, who arrived in Cameroon on Wednesday morning, were received at the Presidency of the Republic in Etoudi.

Carlos Baleba, who left the field injured during the match against Zimbabwe, is "suffering from a forehead wound that should heal without complications," said Professor William Ngatchou, the team doctor, appointed by the Minister of Sports.

Nouhou Tolo, who was also substituted during the game, "has a muscle strain and is being monitored," added the same source.

As the FIFA international break ends, European club competitions are set to resume. Carlos Baleba’s club, Brighton, will face Ipswich Town on September 14 in the fourth matchday. Whether the young Cameroonian international will play depends on his recovery progress.
