Cameroon at Rio Olympics:Overall performance measured at below expectations

After the wonderful victory recorded by Wilfred Seyi, the poor performance that Cameroon has been putting up since the Olympics Games started in Rio continued on Thursday with Cameroonian athletes been eliminated. In the women Judo event,Hortense Vanessa Mballa Atangana competing in the less than 68kg was beaten by Daria Pogorzelec, after she committed three direct faults (known as SHIDO).

Already on Wednesday in weight lifting women weight lifting event, Fouedji Arcangeline Fouodjii Sonkbou competing in 69kg, finished 6th which was equal to elimination. Fouedji Arcangeline is a triple gold medal winner of the African Championship in weight lifting. The volleyball women team, is last in their group after three defeats, the latest defeat was the 3 sets to zero defeat from Russia.
