Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Alex Song joined Barcelona from Arsenal in the summer window of 2012 for a fee of £15m, signing a five year contract with the club. He made his Barcelona debut in the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid. The Cameroonian went on to make 39 appearances over two years for the La Liga champions before moving back to Premier League on loan to West Ham ahead of the 2014-15 season.

Song joined the Spanish giants in the summer of 2012 but failed to make the grade as he played as back-up to Sergio Busquets.

For the past two seasons, the ex-Arsenal star was on loan back in the Premier League with West Ham United but the Hammers decided this summer not to bring him back on a permanent deal.

However, his time at the Nou Camp is now coming to an end with reports from Sport in Spain claiming that he’s on the verge of joining Rubin Kazan.

In his four years at Barcelona, the 28-year-old midfielder has made 39 appearances in the Spanish top flight, scoring once.

Over the past two years for West Ham, Song has played 40 times in the Premier League but only managed to turn out 12 times in the 2015/16 campaign.
After failing to make much of an impression on Slaven Bilic in the top flight in England last term, Song’s future was up in the air but it seems it lies in Russia with Kazan, who finished 10th in the 16-team Russian league.
