Cameroon's International Striker Clinton Njie confirms a 12 million Euro contract with Tottenham Hotspur
Clinton Njie has confirmed his move to Tottenham Hotspur, with the Cameroonian striker thanking current club Lyon and their supporters before declaring that he is set to embark upon a new chapter of his career at White Hart Lane.
With Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado both expected to move on during the remaining weeks of the transfer window, and no striker named on the subs bench for his side's 2015/16 opening day defeat to Manchester United, manager Mauricio Pochettino is in dire need of attacking reinforcements to ease the pressure on last season's top scorer Harry Kane.
Although the likes of Saido Berahino, Charlie Austin, Javier Hernandez and Breel Embolo have all been linked with prospective moves to Tottenham over recent weeks, Njie has emerged as the most likely signing after Lyon manager Hubert Fournier revealed on 13 August that negotiations over a transfer were "well-advanced".
The Telegraph reports that the deal is set to be worth an initial £10m ($15.6m) with a further £2m in add-ons and that the 11-cap Cameroon international was due to travel to London for a medical. Njie looks to have left supporters in no doubt as to his future with a departing message issued via his official Instagram account.
