FECAFOOT Criticizes Cameroon Coach’s Behavior, Possible Sanctions Loom
The head of communication for the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), Jean-Marie Nkoussa, has criticized the actions of Indomitable Lions coach Marc Brys during the Cameroon-Namibia match in Garoua. This behavior could lead to serious sanctions against the Belgian coach.

Speaking on RSI this week, Nkoussa shed light on what transpired during the first round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in Garoua, as well as in Kampala for the second round. He revealed the details of Brys' conduct, which has raised concerns within FECAFOOT.
"In Garoua, Marc Brys withheld the locker room keys, preventing FECAFOOT from accessing the equipment. The players were essentially held hostage by a coach who has the final say on the starting lineup. They couldn’t refuse to train, but they were forced not to because the coach decided to get stuck in traffic," Nkoussa explained.
The same issues reportedly occurred in Uganda. Ahead of the match against Zimbabwe, the Lions missed their pre-game training. The FECAFOOT staff and the players were not housed in the same hotel, which led to miscommunication about last-minute changes to the training location made by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This disorganization had a direct impact on the team's performance, as they managed only a draw without a single shot on target in 90 minutes.
