The International Football Federation (FIFA) released its latest global rankings for September 2024 this morning.

Following a drop in July, Cameroon has fallen two additional places and is now ranked 53rd. The team played two matches recently, achieving one win and one draw.
In contrast, Kenya, which will face Cameroon in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, has risen six places in the rankings. Kenya’s recent performance included a draw and a win in its two September qualifying matches for the upcoming AFCON.
Among African teams, Morocco remains in 14th place globally, maintaining its leading position on the continent. Côte d'Ivoire, the reigning African champion, has moved up five places to 33rd.
Globally, Argentina, the winner of the 2024 Copa America, retains the top spot, followed by France and Spain, the 2024 European champions.
In the African rankings, Morocco leads, followed by Senegal, which has dropped five places, and Egypt, which has moved up five places.
The next FIFA rankings will be published on October 4, 2024, just three days before the Cameroon-Kenya match.
