The former Chief SG of the presidency, Jean Marie Atangana Mebara and his then deputy, who is also a former Prime minister, Ephraim Inoni will serve their remaining eleven years imprisonment terms.
The decision was reiterated by the supreme court which rejected their appeal yesterday 27th of June 2017 on grounds that; the arguments and facts presented by the lawyers of the accused were not sufficient to counteract the judgement of the special criminal court which sentenced them on the 02nd of October 2013 with 20 years jail terms each.
Maître Claude Assira; defence counsel for Mebara said he raised nine points to reason the judges why his client is innocent but the college of judges did not give a any attention.
Chief Inoni Ephraim who has never accepted he is guilty of any wrong doing saw his family members and friends who filled the court room of the highest court in Cameroon left with so much frustration and disappointment. All hopes of seeing the one time strong man of the Yaounde regime set free or benefit from any diminished responsibility was dashed.
As it stands, the dual will remain in prison for the next eleven years except their grand master Paul Biya Bi Mvondo grants them clemency.
It should be recalled that Jean Marie Atangana Mebara and his co- accused Chief Ephraim Inoni are charged with the embezzlement of fcfa 1.7 billion related to the defunct Cameroon Airlines Company.

Chad has warned that due to financial crisis, it may withdraw some of it's soldiers from the Multinational Joint Task Force currently in battle with Boko Haram.
The statement was made on Sunday by President Idriss Deby Itno.
The Multinational Joint Task Force is a combined military effort against Boko Haram by Chad, Cameroon, Nigeria, Niger and Benin.
The movement began in Nigeria in 1994 and later incorporated neighbouring states in the wave of the rapid advancement of insecurity in recent years.
The group has close to 10,000 soldiers .
"Chad is a small country with no financial means which has known huge problems in its recent history. It is the duty of those who have more means to help it," Deby told RFI-TV5-Le Monde in a joint interview released on Sunday(Yahoo news).
"Apart from intelligence from time to time, training, since our intervention in Mali, Cameroon, Nigeria, Niger, we have not been helped financially. Chad spent out of it own resources over 300 billion CFA francs ($512 million) in the fight against terrorism without any external help," he said, Yahoo news reports.
The fight against Boko Haram is apparently far from being over. The terror group has not ceased to perpetrate suicide attacks in the region. However, its strength has been weakened enormously.
But Chad's withdrawal could give a fresh impetus to the terror group, especially if any division rises afterwards.

GCE subjects previewed for Monday 26 June have been postponed to July 1.
The information is contained in a communiqué issued by the Minister of Secondary Education .
Monday has been declared public holiday in Cameroon in honour of the feast of Ramadan which was celebrated on Sunday. The president wants Muslims to prolong feasting.
This is not the first time the controversial GCE examinations are experiencing a postponement. The deadline for registration was extended by two weeks. Another two weeks were added to the written part. That is why the written part began on June 12 instead of late May as tradition has it in recent times.
These were desperate efforts from the regime to turn things round when West Cameroonians showed little interest in whole show.
In the wake of the unrest in West Cameroon, schools have experienced unusual problems.
The most cherished GCE exams have recorded the lowest turnout ever, with less than half of the student population in the two English-speaking regions of the country boycotting them.
West Cameroon began the struggle actively in November 2016.
They decry their marginalization by the eight populous French-speaking regions.

A suicide explosion early Friday, 23.06.2017 in Mora, Far North region of Cameroon has left two dead and one seriously injured. The two dead are the suspected Boko Haram insurgents.
Attacks in the border area also appear to have increased since the start of Ramadan.
The Council of Muslim Dignitaries and Imams of Cameroon has dispatched its members to the area to educate the population and instruct local Muslim clerics to be watchful.
The council’s president, Moussa Oumarou, says terrorists use this holy month of fasting to deceive young Muslims that if they die fighting for Allah they will go straight to paradise. He says poverty makes youth more vulnerable to that message.
The governor of the Far North region, Midjiyawa Bakari, declined to comment on the cause of the violence, but said residents should remain on alert.
Throughout its seven-year insurgency, Boko Haram has attacked government and civilian targets in Cameroon and neighbouring Nigeria to win territory and instill fear across northern Nigeria. Leaders promise young foot soldiers martyrdom, conscripting them and sending them into battle lightly armed and with little training. The group has abducted thousands of women and children.
Today's attack comes barely two days after suspected militants killed 10 people in another suicide attack in the town of Kolofata-Northern Cameroon.Boko Haram has been wreaking havoc in Cameroon since 2014, killing about 2000 civilians and at least 150 soldiers and policemen and displacing hundreds of thousands of people in a war that does not seem to go away.
