25 years after Italia 90: Cameroon will play another quarter-final of a World Cup

The Indomitable Lionesses beat Switzerland on Tuesday in Edmonton 2 goals to 1. So, Cameroon have qualified for the second round of the World Cup women's football tournament taking place in Canada. Cameroon finally rubbished the Swiss thrashing of Ecuador 10 : 1. The drama started in the 24th minute when the Swiss women opened the score board through Crnogorcevic. At the 47th minute, Aboudi ONGUENE scored the equalizer and Cameroon stepped up their game. The winning goal came in at the 62nd minute from Ngono Mani.

Cameroon recorded 6 points and came second in Group C after Japan, world champion who won all three games securing all 9 points. 25 years after the Italia 90, Cameroon will play another quarter-final of the World Cup. With 9 goals in their bank, the Lionesses are doing better than their male compatriots who have participated in 6 editions of World Cup Finals.
