AFCON 2017 Updates:Cameroon In Pot Three
Meeting in a plenary session at the CAF headquarters in Cairo on Tuesday, the executive committee of the Confederation of African Football, under the proposition of the commission in charge of the organization of AFCON 2017 has approved the procedure on how the draw for the competition will be done.This is how the various pots have been constituted.
The four different pots are:
– Pot 1 : Gabon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Algeria
– Pot 2 : Tunisia, Mali, Burkina Faso, DR Congo
– Pot 3 : Cameroon, Senegal, Morocco, Egypt
– Pot 4 : Togo, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Guinea Bissau
This is how the teams will be shared in the four different groups:
Pot 1 : Gabon will be in group A, position A1 ; Côte d’Ivoire will be C1. The first team to be drawn will be B1 and the last will be D1
Pot 2 : First team to be drawn will be A2, the second B2, the third C2, and the fourth D2
Pot 3 : First team drawn will be A3, Second will be B3, third team C3, and fourth team D3
Pot 4 : First team drawn will be A4, Second team B4, third team C4, Fourth team D4.
The Draw for the 2017 Total AFCON comes up on October 19, 2016 in Libreville. It should be recalled, Orange won't be sponsoring the competition but TOTAL.
