Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

The official beginning of the 2016 football season in Cameroon initially scheduled for January 2016 has been postponed to February 2016. The professional Football league using very lame and ridiculous reason attributed the change of date to the non-disbursement of funds by the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education. The traditional stadia where Elite One and two matches have been hosted over the years in regional capitals have been closed by the Ministry for maintenance works in view of the hosting the 2016 Women’s African Cup of Nations.

The current dispensation has prompted the league to resort to play grounds within the regions. So far, some play grounds have already been identified and are currenlty being renovated. The financial package from the Cameroon Football Federation is yet to be received. The dependence of the Professional Football league for financing and play grounds is a major challenge that has resulted in rescheduling of the kick-off of the 2016 football season.
