Patrick Mboma Addresses Speculations on Coaching the Indomitable Lions
In an exclusive interview with CFOOT Magazine, former Cameroonian football star Patrick Mboma addressed speculations surrounding his potential succession to Rigobert Song as the coach of the Indomitable Lions.

When asked about the possibility of taking on the role, Mboma responded candidly, stating, "Yes, but in another life, so NO!" He went on to explain that while he was considered for the position five years ago, he does not currently see himself as a suitable candidate. Mboma expressed humility and respect for the position, emphasizing that he has not been actively involved in coaching since then and does not want to disrespect the role by assuming he is capable without proper preparation.
Acknowledging that his name has been circulating online in connection with the coaching position, Mboma stressed that he does not put much value in rumors. However, he recognized the widespread speculation and felt it was important to address it directly. Despite the desire of many to see him lead the team, Mboma reiterated his stance, stating, "My answer is clear: I can't imagine being called for it now, and I don't believe I'm the ideal person for the role."
Mboma's response reflects a thoughtful and self-aware approach to the possibility of coaching the Indomitable Lions. While he appreciates the support and interest from fans, he remains grounded in his assessment of his own readiness for such a significant responsibility. As the search for Cameroon's next head coach continues, Mboma's words provide insight into his perspective on the role and his own aspirations in the world of football.
