Breaking

The former Cameroonian goalkeeper, Thomas Nkono, was recently honored by the organizing committee of the Sopar del Panathlon Internacional de Barcelona for his illustrious career.

Nkono, a legendary figure both in the world of football and specifically with RCD Espanyol, was celebrated as an idol and a true legend.

RCD Espanyol, where Nkono made a significant impact, described him as one of the most beloved characters in Espanyolismo and in football globally. Demonstrations of affection towards him were evident during the tribute held at the Real Club de Polo in Barcelona.

The Panathlon Dinner Barcelona International, chaired by Josep A. Pujante, served as a platform to honor Nkono's contributions. Accompanied by a delegation from RCD Espanyol, including the club's CEO Mao Ye Wu, advisor and former player Rafa Marañón, former deputy vice-president of the presidency Anna Maria Fusté, and other notable personalities, Nkono shared insights from his journey in both sporting and human aspects.

During the event, Nkono reminisced about his beginnings at the club, shared anecdotes from his time with the Cameroon team, and engaged in a lively discussion with participants. As a token of appreciation, Nkono received a gift from Josep Maldonado and presented him with a goalkeeper jersey.

The Panathlon movement, focused on promoting sports culture and ethics, values the essence of sport as a tool for personal growth and solidarity among individuals and communities. Their motto, "ludios y anointed," emphasizes unity in sports.
