Cameroon will approach 2016 African Nations Championship (Chan) that starts on January 16 to February 7 without two players caretaker coach Alexandre Belinga had planned to build his team around.

According to www.supersports.com, central defender Ronald Ngah and holding midfielder Christian Zock picked up injuries in the 1-1 friendly match against Rwanda at the Umuganda Stadium in Gesenyi Rubavu.

Cameroon press officer Simon Molombe Lyonga told the website before revealing that Ngah has a recurring hamstring injury from pre-tournament training last December in Yaounde that was expected to heal by mid-January but it wasn’t the case.

Zocktore picked up a right ankle injury in the friendly and his exclusion from the tournament was confirmed by team doctor Jean Marc Mbonjo Ngallehe.

Junior Mfede, son to Cameroon legend Louis Paul Mfede will replace Zock while Ngah‘s place on the team will be taken by Mahamat Harouna.

According to Cameroon’s assistant coach Ernest Agbor, Mfede and Harouna will deliver.
