French Court of Appeal has confirmed the ban in France of "Revenge Porn: football, sex, money: the testimony of a former Samuel Eto'o mistress" written by Nathalie Koah. The book which was scheduled to be released on February the 18th had provisionally been banned from publication by a French High Court, following a complaint from the Cameroonian star, for "breach of privacy". However, the publication has widely been circulated for nearly a month on the internet in PDF format.
The appeal court upheld on Friday the decision by the high court. Correspondingly, Advice Editions du Moment, the publishing house has decided to "use all legal means to combat the risk of new censorship". The book is already on sale in many African countries and appears to be a best seller. Cameroon Concord understands it is highly expected in the Ivory Coast and Cameroon.

532 athletes will embark on the conquest of Mount Cameroon this Saturday in Buea, the chief city in the South West region. For most of the participants, the dream of succeeding Yvonne Ngwaya and Godlove Gabsibuin, winners in 2015 respectively in the women and men domains by covering the 4100 meters will be a timeless achievement. 495 Cameroonian athletes will challenge a total 37 foreigners among them some formidable Kenyans. Originally scheduled for February 20, the 21th edition of the Race of Hope was postponed for a week to allow the organizing committee to finalized arrangements for the great event.
The Secretary General of the Cameroon Athletics Federation, Charles Kouoh Kotte told the world that all was now set for the Race of Hope. The return of the main sponsor, Guinness Cameroun in the last three editions has increased the bonus jackpot. Thus, the winners in senior ladies and gentlemen now bank 10 million CFA francs each as against a miserable 3 million CFA francs in the previous years. The second positions will go home with the sum of 5 million FCFA -a three million increase from the 2 million FCFA in the past.

The Cameroon government has paid a 110 million FCFA to the Volleyball Lionesses following their brilliant qualification for the Olympic games in Brazil. The volleyball "sheros" were received with great fanfare on February the 18th, 2016 by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Bidoung Mpkatt at the versatile sports palace in Yaounde, where they got the visa for Rio de Janeiro. Minister Bidoung Mpkatt said the qualification was historic, memorable and resounding. Bidoung Mpkatt noted that "It honors our country and starts a real expansion of women's volleyball in Cameroon".
On the sidelines of the ceremony, the press was informed that the CPDM government has paid the premium rating to the Lionesses. We were not told anything about the distribution of the said amount. However, a reliable but very flippant source hinted Cameroon Concord that the professionals will be paid more money than local players. Our source added that the Cameroon Volleyball Federation intends to make up for the shortfalls of professional players who will lose wages from their clubs for the one month period they were in Yaounde.

The Cameroonian Basketball Federation (FECABASKET) has officially launched the 2015-16 women national leagues over the weekend in Bafang, in the western region of the country.
Four months on since the country hosted the AfroBasket Women 2015 in the capital city of Yaounde, both men and women clubs are back in action.
Eight women clubs, including BEAC of Yaoundé, Ecole de Basketball of Douala, Flux Academy, the defending champions Forces Armées de Police (FAP), INJS de Yaoundé, Haut Nkam, Onyx and Volcanic Warriors of Buea, will do battle for the national silverware.
The competition will be played in three different cities - Bafang, Buea and Douala -. They will compete in a round-robin format.
The top four teams will then advance to the Final-Four, scheduled to take place in May in Yaounde.
FAP of Yaounde opened their campaign with a 52-17 win over Haut Nkam of Bafang, but retaining their title could not be easy as they will face tough opponents such as INJS of Yaounde, who have on their roster national team key players Sandrine Ayangma and Siloise Gano who helped Cameroon to a runners-up finish at AfroBasket Women 2015.
On the other hand, INJS enter the 10-team men championship as defending champions a week ago.
The tournament will be played in home and away format - in a single group - and the highest ranked team will be crowned champion.
Condor of Yaounde who clinched the national title two years ago are making their come-back following two years suspension by FECABASKET.
Jean Denis Mbel, the team’s head coach, has rebuilt his group and is eager to fight for the crown.
