Barrister Sama Francis and his sympathisers have recently launched scathing attacks on the great Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle accusing the Ntumfor of betraying the Anglophone law family during the Bar Council elections politicking.
A hue and cry has erupted over funeral arrangements of the late Mayor and parliamentarian Francoise Foning. The family has moved the solemn ceremony from February 28 to March 18. Southern Cameroons report gathered that some interested parties are questioning why she should be buried in Bafou and not in Douala or Babadjou as per her double marriage title.
The Ministry of Justice is set to open a major investigation at the High court in Wum town capital of Menchum Division. And finally rumour is circulating that Prof. Yanou Mike from the University of Buea may have been killed by Special Forces from La Republique.

One person has been confirmed dead while several have been injured in a prison break attempt in the Ashanti Region of Ghana on Wednesday night. The incident happened in the city of Kumasi which is one of the biggest prisons in the country that houses inmates. Details of the incident were not clear until Thursday when prison officials said inmates wanted to take an advantage of an evacuation exercise in the prison. There was fire outbreak at the prison and officials tried to move some of the inmates to a safe place. But inmates clashed with prison officers, trying to break jail but were overpowered. Some inmates reportedly hurled bricks and other dangerous objects at prison officials.
Spokesperson for the Kumasi Central Prison, ASP Annan said the one who died was shot by a prison officer as he tried to snatch a gun from another officer. He said several inmates and prison officers were injured and are currently receiving medical treatment at the city’s hospital. "One of the prisoners on remand in the heat of the confusion tried to snatch a weapon from a policeman. Another officer looking on shot the prisoner and he died in the process, the number of Police officers who got injured were more than four but the serious ones are about four and they are being treated at the hospital", he said.
DSP Annan added that order has been restored with the help of reinforcement from the regional security headquarters. "The situation is calm. We got help from headquarters to join our force to bring the situation under control, nobody should panic", DSP Annan added. Prison break is uncommon in Ghana and authorities say investigation into the incident has been initiated to prevent such occurrences in the future.

One person has been killed and three others taken hostage as pirates hijack a crude oil tanker off the Nigerian coast. The Greek coastguard said on Wednesday that the Malta-flagged Kalamos’s Greek deputy commander was killed by the pirates. Dozens of heavily armed pirates boarded the 15-year-old tanker that was at anchor in Nigeria’s Gulf of Guinea on Tuesday.
The tanker was waiting for a fresh oil cargo from the Qua Iboe terminal in southeastern Nigeria. A coastguard spokeswoman told AFP that two of the three hostages were Greek nationals, adding that out of the 23 crewmembers 10 were from Greece.
Experts say the Gulf of Guinea has become the new epicenter for piracy in Africa. The International Maritime Bureau has said that between January and September 2014, 33 incidents of piracy and armed raids were recorded in the region.
